Having worked in both clinical and commercial environments, Lynne set up alimenta to offer expert nutrition and marketing advice to food and nutrition companies and organisations. Since its inception, alimenta has gone from strength to strength and now offers a wide range of nutrition services to a broad spectrum of companies.

More specifically, her past and current responsibilities have included:-

  • Editor for Complete Nutrition magazine, a specialist nutrition magazine that is circulated to over 6000 health professionals who have an interest in nutrition.
  • Dietetic consultant to The Truth About Food programme (BBC2). Designed, conducted and analysed two diets (the Evo diet and Transit diet) that formed part of this hit series.
  • Joint organizer and chairperson of the annual health professional ‘Nutrition through Life’ study days. These events are aimed at health professionals and provide expert insight into nutrition and its growing influence in the management of key healthcare issues from birth through to old age.
  • Nutrition consultant to The Tea Council; responsible for clearly communicating the health benefits of tea in a positive and accurate manner.
  • Nutrition and communications consultant for the Soya Protein Association; responsible for raising the awareness of the health benefits of soya to health professionals and the media.
  • Nutrition consultant for the Wholegrain for Health Campaign; responsible for communicating the health benefits of whole grains through consumer media.
  • Article research and writing for the health and consumer press.
  • Providing nutrition advice on an adhoc basis to food manufacturers, communication agencies and pharmaceutical companies.

Lynne originally qualified from King’s College, London with a first class Honors Degree in Nutrition and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics (passed with distinction and winner of the 1990 Van Den Berghs prize) in 1990.

She then started off her Dietetic career at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London before moving to St. George’s Hospital, London where she practiced as a cardiothoracic Dietitian. Following these acute positions she moved into Primary Care as a Community Dietitian for West London Healthcare NHS Trust. Seeking experience in the commercial environment, Lynne then became a Product Manager in the pharmaceutical industry where she was responsible for launching a range of medical nutrition products to healthcare professionals. During this time she gained her Advanced Diploma in Marketing (CIM).
